What Makes Great Teaching?
I think teachers that care and have good strategies and ways of teaching are what make great teachers. In order to be a great teacher you must be caring with every single student, taking time to get to know them and their background. If we can not be helpful to each student and their home life we won't be able to teach at our fullest. As teachers, we will see many different students, all of which will have different learning styles. To accommodate each student we will need to figure out what best suits them, helping teach a different style to students who may be struggling is important. As a teacher, we will have to use many different methods of teaching, some of the methods I liked that were used this year are selecting golden lines to determine importance, blogging with peers, anticipation guide, and 3-2-1 reports. The golden lines allow students to focus on what lines stand out to them, I think that this is important because students are able to explain what stands out to them. Blogging with peers will allow them to see other people's opinions, and they will be able to pass ideas back and forth. Anticipation guides and 3-2-1 reports both require thinking about what you learned and asking further questions. These are only some of the many great teaching methods. Great teaching is based on great teachers. Taking our time to better educate ourselves so that we can properly educate the youth.
