Why Teach?
Personally, growing up I had some great teachers. They made learning an exciting experience, I wasn't dreading going to school everday as a child. In my later years I had some teachers that I didn't quite like so much. Their teaching style was boring and they were extremely strict. Throughout all my years in school the teachers that seemed to stick with me the most were my Elementary teachers. I always find myself having fond memories of that time. I think being able to make such a big difference on young childrens lives is so important. I decided to follow the educational career path when I chose my courses for high school, I had always had a thought in the back of my head about being an educator, but these courses really solidified my decision. I realized I had a passion for teaching and I wanted to be like the elementary teachers I had growing up. I want to make an impact on young childrens lives.
I would love to teach one of the earlier grades, first grade or kinder are preferable. I had an internship my junior year of high school with a first grade class. I thoroughly enjoyed the experiences I had there. As a first grade teacher I would be required to teach all subjects. I think that first grade is one of the most memorable grades, the students have just started actually getting into learning. They are starting to learn the foundations of knowledge. Having a good teacher for students that young is imperative to the rest of their learning careers.
